- Commissioned by the Echostar Corporation to discover new markets and applications for their satellite infrastructure (The DIsh Network)
- Conducted by ten Masters students from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)
- Conducted research into the needs of potential customers and users
- Used a modified Contextual Inquiry process
- Generated over 100 ideas for products and presented six of the best
- Client chose two ideas to be prototyped

- Prototyped a video rental store kiosk
- Kiosk to be updated by the Echostar satellite system
- Main features: video previews, video recommendations, video locations
- Features were driven by the findings of our Contextual Inquiry process
